Jordan Glazier’s start in strategy consulting helped him develop what he calls the “muscle memory” that guided him through the next stops in his career, which included stints across very different industries.

“You learn how to step into a new industry cold, from the outside looking in and three to six months later, you’re actually able to give advice to the c-suite on how to run their business,” said Glazier, the founder and CEO of Wildfire Systems, a white-label loyalty, rewards and cashback platform he founded in 2017.

That ability to find the pain points within supply chains and identify demand challenges – and solve these issues has proven to be a theme in Glazier’s various roles. During his time at eBay in the early 2000s, he helped build eBay’s consumer electronics, computers and industrial business units and move it beyond a place consumers only associated with buying and selling collectibles.

The Internet was just taking off when he left GATX Corporation for eBay. Glazier took the job change because he wanted to be at the the forefront of building out the possibilities of the “the information superhighway.”

“I remember thinking to myself that one day, I’m going to have grandchildren and they are going to say ‘Grandpa, where were you when the Internet started?’ he said. “And I don’t think I want to tell them I was leasing rail cars in South America.”
