What We’re Looking For:

The Senior Manager, Affiliate Marketing position is an opportunity for an experienced candidate to take the next step in a leadership role at a fast-growing company that has the highest standards for talent, fun, and client success. The ideal candidate demonstrates phenomenal client management, inspiring team leadership, great critical thinking, and sophisticated understanding of the digital media landscape. This role will support the Manager of Growth & Partnerships by playing a pivotal role in helping Today’s Business create scalable growth within our affiliate marketing department. The Senior Manager, Affiliate Marketing will report directly to the Manager of Growth & Partnerships

Essential Duties:

  • Affiliate strategy & thought leadership:
    • Act as a subject matter expert for Affiliate strategies by continually evolving Today’s Business’ approach to best practices, managing, planning and execution tools, and staying on top of emerging trends
    • Develop and drive forward Affiliate strategies and roadmaps aligned with client program growth goals
    • Lead forward-thinking team strategies within the client mix in partnership with other team members
  • Performance media management & execution:
    • Planning, prioritization, and execution of campaign and roadmap tactics
    • Lead day to day management and optimization of Affiliate marketing campaigns with exceptional execution; including:
    • Strategic partner identification, recruitment, vetting, activation, relationship building, and optimization, such as:
      • Analyzing program performance and actioning on data and insights
      • Paid Placement Management processes, such as:
        • Sourcing and evaluating opportunities
        • Evaluating and speaking to ROI analysis
        • Ensuring accuracy by adding to Teammates, our proprietary affiliate database 
        • Ensuring payments are made from client and to publishers
      • Management of publisher agreements, billings, transaction inquiries, and compliance
      • Test ideation, planning, and management
      • Coupon code management processes, such as:
        • Requesting codes from partners, and inputting data into Quickbase and Affiliate Network
        • Monitoring codes to ensure they are being used appropriately, and adjusting as exclusive as necessary
      • Messaging Management processes, such as:
        • Creating messaging for and from outreach team, and ensuring information is accurate and appropriate
      • Content Strategy / SEO processes, such as:
        • Performing keyword research to develop content ideas for successful ranking on Google
        • Developing SEO content outline designed to rank and accurately publish content 
        • Editing content and adding proper links
        • Publishing content or requesting content to be published
  • Client relationship management:
    • Work in tandem with our Client Services Department to effectively build trust and credibility with our affiliate clients and grow the overall relationship and performance
    • Lead development and delivery of client-facing solutions, including:
      • Clearly defining program objectives, tactics and KPIs
      • Developing and delivering client communication
      • Build strategies for clients and lead tactical planning and execution
    • Effectively influence client stakeholders to evolve strategies and invest further into the affiliate channel
  • Team leadership and employee development:
    • Develop team members through trainings, SME development, and support
    • Support staffing strategy and help recruit, train and manage new Today’s Business team members
    • Foster a culture of open communication and 360-degree feedback
    • Inspire your team and direct reports to reach their quarterly, annual, and long-term goals
    • Develop individualized and group training processes/paths for affiliate team that addresses specific personal and departmental needs
    • Reviewing and editing messages from team and coaching on messaging performance
    • Hiring freelance writers as needed
    • Work closely with Human Resources to identify talent for affiliate internship program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within affiliate marketing
  • Proven track record of success driving strong positive results through affiliate marketing programs
  • 2+ years of experience directly leading and supporting multiple team members
  • Sales and/or Public Relations experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
  • Copywriting experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties, and/or projects
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and pivot tables
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability and desire to leverage data and analytics to drive channel strategies
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to tell a story with data
